Heat treatment applied to improve the mechanical properties of aluminium profiles and cast parts is a critical process for extrusion and casting plants. GUMEN designs and delivers the solution heat treatment furnace, quench unit and ageing furnace as an integrated system.
T5 treatment: Direct artificial ageing after extrusion. No solution heat treatment step; the process is fast and low-cost. Common in 6xxx series profiles. T6 treatment: First solution heat treatment at high temperature, then rapid quench, then artificial ageing. Higher mechanical properties are achieved but the process is longer and more expensive. Preferred for 2xxx and 7xxx series alloys. GUMEN offers suitable furnace and quench solutions for both processes.
