Batch and continuous furnace solutions for full annealing, soft annealing, normalizing and stress relief. Gas or electrically heated, with controlled cooling option.
Furnace cooling rate is programmed via PLC. Optimum cooling profile applied for each steel composition. Microstructure control is assured.
N₂ or endo atmosphere optionally available to prevent surface oxidation and decarburisation. Surface quality is preserved.
The appropriate furnace type is selected according to component size and production rate. Batch for medium capacities, continuous furnace for high-volume production.
Automatic heat treatment certificate generated for each charge via PLC temperature logging. Compliant with EN, ASTM and customer standards.
After manufacturing, the microstructure of steel components may contain stresses and hardening caused by cold forming, welding or casting processes. These conditions complicate machinability, increase brittleness risk and lead to dimensional instability.
Annealing and normalizing heat treatments resolve these issues. GUMEN manufactures gas or electrically heated furnaces for both processes in project-specific capacity and design.
Full Annealing: Slow cooling inside the furnace — maximum softening and machinability. Long duration, high energy consumption but very well-balanced mechanical properties.
Normalizing: Air cooling outside the furnace — grain refinement and homogenisation. Shorter duration compared to full annealing, slightly higher hardness. Common choice for structural steels. GUMEN offers suitable furnace solutions for both processes.
